I have a PhD in Technical Communication from Illinois State University, US and am a full professor of technical and scientific communication at Kansas State University, US. I have 15 years of experience teaching scientific, technical, engineering, and business communication at undergraduate and graduate levels.
My own research focuses on visual communication in science and technology, public science communication, and intercultural technical communication.
I am the author of Communicating Genetics: Visualizations and Representations (Palgrave Macmillan), The Other Kind of Funnies: Comics in Technical Communication (Routledge), and lead editor of Scientific Communication: Theories, Practices, and Pedagogies (Routledge), and Negotiating Cultural Encounters: Narrating Intercultural Engineering and Technical Communication (Wiley/IEEE). I have also published numerous articles in a variety of technical and scientific communication journals and won various research grants.

I founded Pub & Prosper for several reasons:

I enjoy working with scientists, engineers, and scholars who have a genuine desire to communicate their research. It gives me great satisfaction to use my training to help others succeed in academic publishing.

I want to assist researchers who speak English as a second language and need to publish in English-language journals. These researchers are at a severe disadvantage in academic publishing despite their brilliant work.

I learn a great deal from assisting others. Through each editing project, I learn more about different disciplines and their norms in communication. I then apply this knowledge to my own teaching and research.
